Sara first began her Classical Ballet study at age three under the direction of Jaqueline P. College. She was later admitted into Utah Regional Ballet’s professional track program.
After completing her studies as a Utah Regional Ballet apprentice she transferred to Jenny Creer-King’s Classical Ballet Academy. There, she took on an intensive study of classical and contemporary ballet, under the tutelage of Jenny Creer-King, Attila Ficzere, Yi-Qi Cheng and Susie Wood. She had the opportunity to compete in Youth American Grand Prix, performing pieces from Don Quixote, Esmerelda and original contemporary pieces choreographed by Jenny Barlow. She placed in the top 12 for her classical and contemporary pieces in the Youth American Grande Prix competition. She has studied at numerous summer intensive programs and has been awarded scholarships from Bolshoi Ballet, Alonzo King Line’s Ballet, an Ririe Woodbury.
Sara later went on to study at Utah Valley University on a dance scholarship, where she performed with Synergy Dance Company and Contemporary Dance Ensemble. While there, she was able to study abroad in Scotland and England, both teaching and performing.
Sara has been on Ballet and Contemporary faculty for several professional studios around Utah including Pioneer Performing Arts High School. She has developed original choreography for several of her students who have been given numerous awards. Her choreography has been seen at ACDFA, UVU’s Synergy Dance Company, YAGP, and NYCDA.
Currently, Sara is dancing with the contemporary company SALT, based in Salt Lake City. She has had the privilege of working with choreographers from Diavolo, Northwest Dance Project, Odyssey Dance Theater and Brigham Young University.
