This holiday season Just Dance Arts Academy and Bobby Lawrence Karate are partnering with Reach 360 and DCFS to provide a fun holiday community service event!

Join us on Saturday, December 15th to collect donations and assemble birthday baskets for local teens living in foster care, which will be given to them on their birthday. ABOUT THE CHILDREN THIS SERVICE PROJECT IS BENEFITTING: Right now there are over 2,800 foster children in Utah, and approximately 750 are teenagers. Many of them are living in a group home setting. Rather than loving parents to take care of their needs, they are cared for by hired help that rotates in shifts, leaving them unattended. In addition to the many struggles they face on a daily basis, they don’t have anyone to celebrate them on their birthday.

ABOUT REACH360: Reach360™ is a non-profit providing financial support for individual activities and group classes for kids in care. We believe all kids deserve opportunities to thrive. LEARN MORE.

DANCE CURRICULUM

ALL STAGES

At Just Dance, we strive to help dancers of all skill levels find their own path while increasing their love of dance. This is achieved by offering a variety of classes and programs for dancers with various goals and experience, including ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop, competition teams, creative movement, and everything in between.

Modern_600_840_2.jpg

MODERN

Modern dance is an art form developed in the early 20th century. Established techniques, along with full-bodied movements, are used to express abstract ideas. Modern dance is expressive and focuses on a dancer's own interpretation of ideas, art, and culture. Movement generation and creativity is encouraged through improvisation and choreographic exercises.

Ballet_2_600_840.png

BALLET

Just Dance's Ballet program is designed for dancers who have completed fundamental study in dance techniques and strive to improve their dance ability. We focus on extension, flexibility, endurance, grace, terminology and technique. As dancers develop strength, they advance through all levels of Ballet prior to the Pointe Program.

Jazz_Jump_600_840.jpg

JAZZ

Jazz training emphasizes flexibility and rhythmic movement. Dancers will focus on strength, musicality, terminology, and technique.

Lyrical_600_840.jpg

CONTEMPORARY

Enjoy the freedom of movement though music and physical interpretation of feelings. This art form allows you to experience your creativity on an advanced level by using your body and mind to think outside the box.

Hip_Hop_2_600_840-1.png

HIP HOP

A fun, fast paced style of dance that incorporates the movement of music video, street style dancing and tricks. Hip Hop classes are structured to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility and endurance. Only age appropriate movement and music will be used.

DANCE PROGRAMS

Just Dance's programs allow dancers to pursue their passions and find their perfect fit. This includes Ballet, Contemporary/Modern, Competition, or just one class a week.

BALLET

Just Dance's Ballet program is run by Sara Mills, who has recently been teacher trained in the Vaganova-based Method of teaching classical Ballet. This pure method was created by the late Russian ballerina, Agrippina Vaganova and her syllabus is scientifically based and physiologically sound. Since implementing this methodical way of teaching classical ballet, Just Dance has seen a skyrocket of growth from our students. We are the only studio in Utah County that has this specific type of training and can claim to have a true classical ballet syllabus.

CONTEMPORARY

The Contemporary program at Just Dance Arts Academy is directed by Lori Higbee. It is a university-prep program designed for experienced dancers ages 10 and up. On the Contemporary Company, dancers will take modern technique, improvisation, choreography, and ballet, and will have the opportunity to work with local dance professionals from Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, and Utah Valley University, as well as dancers from local professional dance companies such as Ririe Woodbury, RDT, SALT, and Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company. Dancers will learn how to compose dances to perform at student choreography festivals throughout the state. They will also have the opportunity to participate in our student choreographed Contemporary Concert as well as the studio Spring Recital.
